Xiaomi Mi 9 With Snapdragon 855, Triple-Cameras, And Upto 12GB RAM Announced

Ahead of Samsung’s Galaxy S10 launch, Xiaomi has announced its new flagship, the Mi 9. Most of the features of the mobile phone were already out, including the triple camera at the back with a 48-megapixel sensor and the powerful Snapdragon 855 processor.

Announced at a special event in China, the new Mi 9 comes in an interesting curved glass design with gradient finish at the back. There’s a 6.39-inch Samsung-made AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. There is a tiny water-drop notch at the top and a slight chin at the bottom, so no it isn’t completely bezel-less and the company claims a 90.7-percent screen-to-body ratio.

As mentioned above, the handset runs on a Snapdragon 855 processor with 6GB and 8GB RAM options. During the event, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun has announced a Game Turbo feature which is said to boost the phone’s performance for an improved gaming experience. He went on to say that this feature helps in maintaining a higher framerate when compared to the likes of Huawei’s Kirin 980 equipped device. The triple camera setup at the back includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.75 aperture and laser autofocus, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with a 117-degree view as well as 4cm macro photography capability. There are also some AI features, distortion correction, a bunch of face filters and more. There’s also a “Moon Mode” which does exactly as it sounds. It is claimed to take sharp and detailed photos of the moon. Sure, that’s exactly what consumers do when they buy a phone with a high-end camera. The company went on to actually compare shots taken from an iPhone XS and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro with the Mi 9. Hopefully, this feature also works for other bright objects that are far away instead of just working on the moon. Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, NFC, infrared remote to control TVs and air conditioners and improved audio courtesy a large driver and a 0.9cc sounding chamber. There’s a 3,300mAh battery which can fully charge within 60 minutes as the phone supports 27W fast charging. There is also 20W wireless charging support which is evidently faster than Samsung and Huawei.

To experience that, Xiaomi also introduced a $15 (Rs 1,100 approx) wireless charger, a 10,000 mAh power bank worth $22 (Rs 1,600 approx) and an in-car wireless charging cradle with automatic grip for $25 (Rs 1,800 approx). All of these accessories will be sold separately.

Last, but not the least, the Mi 9 also gets a transparent limited edition just like last year’s Mi 8. The limited edition of the Mi 9 was announced in association with newly released sci-fi movie Alita: Battle Angel. The company has improved the overall camera here adding an extra lens and a faster f/1.47 aperture. It also comes with a whopping 12GB of RAM so you don’t have to slow down on multitasking.

The Mi 9 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at 2,999 (Rs 32,000 approx) yuan while, the 8GB version will cost 3,299 yuan (Rs 35,000 approx) . The special transparent edition with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage will cost 3,999 yuan (Rs 43,000 approx) .

Huawei Mate X Folding 5G Smartphone

Huawei Technologies unveiled a $2,600 folding smartphone on Sunday which it said was primed for next-generation 5G mobile connections, even as the United States campaigns to bar the Chinese company from such networks over security concerns. Huawei, the world’s second-largest smartphone vendor after Samsung, said it had taken the lead on developing phones for 5G – which promise super fast internet speeds for consumers and businesses – because it was also involved in developing the networks.

“This phone is not only for today for 5G but also for future 5G. On all the benchmarks you can see the performance, the speed is the fastest for 5G in the world,” said Richard Yu, head of Huawei’s consumer business group. Speaking ahead of the mobile industry’s biggest global event, which kicks of on Monday in Barcelona, Yu said the Huawei Mate X will have two back-to-back screens which unfold to become an eight-inch tablet display.

Yu said the Mate X would be able to download a 1 gigabyte movie in three seconds but also be priced at 2,299 euros ($2,607) when it goes on sale later this year, setting a new upper limit for consumer smartphones. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd last week unveiled its own folding smartphone, priced at nearly $2,000, in a bid to top the technology of Apple Inc and Chinese rivals and reignite consumer interest amid slumping sales. Huawei, which is also the world’s biggest producer of telecoms equipment, is under intense scrutiny in the West over U.S.-led allegations of enabling Chinese state espionage, accusations which the company denies. Huawei’s chairman said on Sunday recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump that the U.S. needed to get ahead in mobile communications through competition rather than seeking to block technology was “clear and correct”.

OPPO to Launch Phone With 10x Zoom Camera

To add more power to smartphone photography, Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has said it will launch a phone with 10x “lossless” zoom technology in the second quarter of this year. The phone will have a triple-lens camera structure including a 48MP main camera, 120 degree ultra-wide lens and a telephoto lens, the company announced at its “Innovation Event” here on Saturday on the eve of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona.

“With all the three lenses we can cover broad focal lengths of 16 mm-160 mm which make up our 10x lossless zoom,” said Chuck Wang, Product Manager, OPPO. “How did we fit it in a smartphone? We developed a periscopic module that is structured in a horizontal organisation. This reduces the thickness of the lens, resulting in a camera module only 6.76 mm thick,” he said.

The phone will have optical image stabilisation (OIS) features on both the main camera and telephoto lens so that images become less blurry. “Our 10x Lossless Zoom is mass-production-ready and will appear in a product soon,” Wang added. OPPO also showcased at the event its first smartphone that is designed to work in a 5G network. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and paired with the chipmaker’s AX50 5G modem, the OPPO 5G phone is likely to be launched this year, said Henry Tang, Director of Standards and Head of OPPO Standards Research Centre. OPPO said the phone would be ready for trial in India in the second quarter of this year. OPPO first showcased a 5G prototype of its flagship Find X smartphone in China in December 2018. The OPPO Find X was launched last year. In November 2018, OPPO completed a group video call on a R15 Pro-based 5G smartphone which lasted for more than 17 minutes on a 5G network with a bandwidth of 100 MHz. So the buzz is that OPPO’s new 5G phone could either be in the Find or the R series, with sources claiming that the chances are higher for the latter making the cut. OPPO currently operates in more than 40 countries and regions, with six research institutes and four R&D centres worldwide, including one in Hyderabad.

Spotify India Review

After a really long struggle, Spotify has managed to launch its services in India. The app was enabled yesterday for most users and is offered with multiple plans to suit their needs. In case you have been living under a rock, Spotify is a Sweden-based music streaming platform which was originally launched in October 2008. It has been the top music service provider globally when it comes to subscriber base. In fact, As of February 2019, it had 207 million total monthly active users, including 96 million paying subscribers.

Spotify is definitely late to the party and could have a hard time to compete against existing services like Apple Music, Google Music and Amazon Music as well as domestic player like JioSaavn and Gaana. The reason for Spotify’s delayed arrival is that the company took its time to sign deals with various labels that control the music industry in India. Mind you, unlike most countries, India has a massive music industry. There are independent artists, regional music and of course Bollywood. The company hasn’t had a very pleasant experience as it reportedly had concerns with T-Series and is currently still in talks with Warner Music to finalise content.

So what can you expect if you are a keen Spotify user in India? Let’s find out… Content and Experience
The app is available for all Android and iOS devices as well as Windows 10 PCs, macOS devices, Android TV, Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox and of course on all web browsers. Spotify claims that the app is also available on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, however, I tested the app and couldn’t use the service on the latter. Hopefully, a quick update will enable the feature. Also, if you own an Android TV, make sure you download the app as it just looks majestic on a large screen.

(Update: Fired up Spotify and connected it to my car stereo, and voila it started working.)

Considering I have used the global version of Spotify, the Indian version is pretty much the same. You get access to all features including the highly praised ‘Discover’ curation which you can find under the Search option. Specifically for India, you get curated playlists based on what users are listening in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. There is also a tab customised for you, which suggests songs based on what you have been listening. Then there are Editor’s picks, best of artists, and a variety of auto-generated playlists which keep improving as you use the app.

As for the content itself, there is a wide range of music including Bollywood, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, apart from a variety of international genres, podcasts, radio, and more. Notably, some international content is missing from Spotify. I was surprised to see music from legendary bands like Led Zeppelin and Metallica unavailable on the app. Now it’s not like everything is missing, but one expects to find a song immediately under the search results. You will notice that while all artists are present, some of them have no music while some have only a few singles or albums. The reason for that is presumably the ongoing tussle with Warner Music.

Spotify had confirmed that Warner revoked a previously agreed publishing license for reasons completely unrelated to Spotify’s launch in India. Just a day back, Warner sued to stop Spotify’s use of its catalog, which Spotify had tried to obtain rights to through a controversial amendment to the Indian copyright act that allows for broadcasters to obtain licenses without the copyright owner’s consent. So don’t be surprised if your favorite Ed Sheeran track is missing, but hopefully, Spotify will eventually get content from Warner.

In my opinion, if you have been using a streaming service say Apple Music or Google Music, then there isn’t a huge reason for you to jump boat. On top of that, a chunk of international music isn’t available as of yet. Having said that, Spotify is highly capable and intuitive and the existing services can’t match up when it comes to playlist curations and suggestions. Personally I also think that the app lets you discover new artists that are aligned with your music tastes. Audio experience has been impeccable and one can seamlessly switch between devices.

Why should I get Premium?
The good thing is, if you don’t get the premium plan, you still get access to the entire music library offered by Spotify. But if you want to enjoy the full potential of Spotify, we suggest you go for the premium plan. Apart from an ad-free experience, the premium tier offers 320Kbps audio files to stream and download (for offline playback) under the very high-quality music option. This makes for an enhanced audio experience, especially for the ones who prioritise quality over size.

The premium tier also unlocks the ability to skip tracks and you can also download tracks for offline listening making albums and playlists accessible to you all the time. The premium tier also offers Spotify Connect, which controls Spotify music across multiple devices. You can control what’s playing on your laptop using your smartphone, or pair Spotify with dedicated hardware, like speakers or a console.

Plans
As for the subscription, just like the global version, Spotify in India is being offered as an ad-supported free tier, as well as premium tier options. The premium plans are ad-free and include a 30-day free trial. After the free trial ends, you need to pay Rs 119 per month to get full access to all the music and premium features. You only get the complimentary one month access if you pay for your monthly plan via Visa or Mastercard.

Spotify Premium starts for Rs 13 a day while a week-long subscription is priced at Rs 39. If you are a more serious user, then you can go for the monthly subscription which priced at Rs 129, Rs 389 for 3 months, Rs 719 for 6 months and Rs 1,189 for one year. Notably, while this is only slightly cheaper than Apple Music, there are no sharing or family packs, which give Apple an advantage here.

Keys to MBA Success

Keys to MBA Success

Respect the Challenge

Many people think that being in the MBA program is a break from work. However, the program is full of challenges. In pre-term, the first four weeks of your MBA career, classmates. are challenged with a heavy workload and team-intensive projects.

From this experience, I learned to be aware of potential challenges and take advantage of resources available. For instance, classmates from different cohorts form study groups to help each other prepare for finals and offer free tutoring sessions on-campus. Through this experience, I learned to effectively communicate with my study groups to achieve maximum productivity.

Build Your Personal Brand

You usually hear about building brands in marketing. In MBA program, this is very crucial. During daily engagement and teamwork, you are always evaluated by your classmates. How do you build a personal brand? An approach is to focus on these five keys: Competence, Connection, Courage, Character, and Credibility. Competence is your technical ability. Connection is how you actively build relationships and develop networks in the MBA program. Courage is an indicator of how you are able to communicate and provide an opinion with confidence, but not in an overly aggressive manner. Character is about being trustworthy, hardworking, and optimistic. Credibility is demonstrated in your willingness to take responsibility and lead a group.

Effectively Build and Track Relationships

Networking is one of the key reasons people choose an MBA program. During our orientation, I learned that building and maintaining relationship is essential to all career directions. To do so, I created a tracking system in Excel. On this sheet I recorded my old and new connections. Although you may not keep in touch regularly, send previous managers or colleagues an email just to keep in touch. When you make new contacts, add as many details as possible. As you follow up with them, you will be able to use this information to remind them about the conversations you had or connect on a personally level. I have many classmates who successfully secured offers from their dream companies because they did a great job building and tracking relationships.

Xiaomi Redmi 6A Review

Xiaomi’s Redmi phones have pretty much established themselves as the de-facto choices at nearly every price point in the budget space.

The Chinese brand, once considered a tiny upstart, has consistently launched smartphones that deliver tremendous value for money and make their competitors look overpriced.

Price range

Starting at just Rs. 5,999 — though this is an “introductory price” — the Redmi 6A neatly replaces the Redmi 5A (Review) and brings just enough updates and new features to fend off newer competitors. Let’s see what’s new, and whether this phone is still the best choice for people on a shoe-string budget.

Features

Helio A22 Processor

Redmi 6A the predictable Qualcomm 400-series, Xiaomi has switched to MediaTek’s brand new Helio A22 (MT6762) processor. New Natural Condom Is Helping Women’s Their Sexual Health

New Natural Condom Is Helping Women’s Their Sexual Health

“I actually spent my whole life dreaming of starting a condom company with my dad – very specific, I know,” Meika Hollender, founder of Sustain Natural, says in the video above. It might sound like a crude joke, but Hollender is serious. In 2014, she launched Sustain with her father, Jeffrey Hollender, the founder and former CEO of eco-friendly household products company Seventh Generation.

Together, the Hollenders have built an all-natural sexual wellness brand that’s grown from condoms to tampons, lube, and other sexual-health products. Meika, who authored the self-help book Get On Top: Of Your Pleasure, Sexuality & Wellness: A Vagina Revolution earlier this year, wants women to take control of their bodies and to eradicate the stigma around talking about sexual wellness.

“My belief is that by having open, honest conversations about sex and sexual health we will create a world in which women are taking control,” the badass woman says. “I hope that I leave this world in a place where our rights are not questioned.”

Check out the full video and the excerpts below for more info on why Hollender launched Sustain, the company’s work with Planned Parenthood, and her plans for the future.

Sex taboo: After launching Sustain with a signature line of all-natural condoms, Hollender got slut-shamed on the internet in the comments section of an article written about her fledgling company.

Viewers focused on a freckle on Hollender’s lip, insinuating she had an STD instead of focusing on the products and company she had built.

The moment actually encouraged Hollender to keep pushing to target the stigma around sexual health. “That was when I knew it was really my mission and my passion to fight every single day on behalf of women everywhere,” she says.

Sustain for Planned Parenthood: “We’re not selling lipstick,” Hollender says. “It’s not just building a business, it’s building a business in an extremely controversial space.” Which is why she chose to align her company with Planned Parenthood’s efforts from day one. “Sexual reproductive health is not a gender-specific, identity-specific, orientation-specific conversation. It is an everybody conversation,” Planned Parenthood President Laura McQuade, also featured in the video above, says.

Family support: Hollender says her parents have always been supportive and open about matters of sexual health. “When it came to talking about sex, it didn’t feel like we were scared what to tell them what was going on because we genuinely wanted their advice,” she says. That’s something she’s exceptionally grateful for and wants to encourage in the world today.

The health movement: About five years ago, Hollender says she noticed an increase in natural food, cleaning products, and skincare. “But when it came to the products going inside one of the most absorbent parts of our bodies, our vaginas, women in particular were not thinking about what’s going into these products,” she says.

Enter: Sustain Natural, Hollender’s chance to combine her passion for reducing the stigma around women’s sexual health with an all-natural products line catering to women’s needs in the bedroom and beyond.

Paris Fashion Week Kicks Off With Dior and Gucci

Paris Fashion Week Kicks Off With Dior and Gucci

The Paris collections opened on Monday with a battle royale, as Dior and Gucci, two of fashion’s biggest luxury players, faced off in a surprising matchup that was, in the short term, a bid to capture more eyeballs, and, in the long term, part of a majorly knockout fight for market share.

Designers are notoriously competitive, as we all know, but the luxury conglomerates that own their houses are downright brutal in their efforts to grow bigger, faster, and stronger than anyone else, at any cost.

Case in point: Gucci, the explosively powerful prizefighter owned by Kering, which normally opens the Milan collections, moved its show this season to a prime position at the start of the Paris collections. Not to be scooped, Dior, owned by Kering’s rival LVMH, advanced its show by a day, so it would still be the first big event of Paris, preceding Gucci by six hours.

While this may seem like inside baseball to viewers watching at home, it does make a difference, and Dior — led by artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri — was more than up for the challenge by its Italian neighbor. Chiuri has slowly, methodically, and patiently built a case for her vision of a feminist, sensual, and unabashedly unpractical Dior, where sheer dresses and visible underwear are part and parcel to her aesthetic.

She has faced her doubters. But she has remained true in her convictions and she has ultimately persevered — her spring collection being her finest to date, energized by a mesmerizing dance performance in a stunning black space. Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal led a troupe, outfitted in leggings and tights embroidered in the Dior style, through a shower of rose petals, as each dancer slowly moved across a vast black tent, erected for the occasion somewhere in the Bois de Boulogne.

They joined into pairs, and then groups, creating hypnotic movements that both distracted and enhanced the clothes being simultaneously presented on Chiuri’s runway.

Those designs were inspired by dance, though the reference was loose enough to allow for some fabulous daywear and dresses that really showed Chiuri’s strength of creating gowns that are simultaneously conservative in their full lengths and perverse in their transparency. A lengthy opening of neutral khaki and severely black dresses was interrupted by surprises of tie-die and denim, and textured skirts that looked incredibly intricate, even in the darkened room with so much going on. One favorite look was a sheer dress of black netting with a skirt of multi-colored tulle, worn like an X-ray over a black fishnet bodysuit.

Gucci’s Paris debut, meanwhile, was a highly anticipated event, so much so that the entire block surrounding the historic Le Palace theater was mobbed with screaming fans. Gucci’s designer, Alessandro Michele, has so successfully rewritten the codes of luxury over the last five years that it seemed fairly reasonable for him to start a show with a shock film, with a floppy model meandering, or possibly overdosing, in a nice old house

(I worry she may need medical assistance), that might have been inspired by New Wave cinema, or might have had something to do with current horror movies — who knows? It was disruptive, anyway. Inside, the show was laid out around the rows of seats, with models entering from the back of the theater and walking down the aisles to the stage so that most guests got only a good look at their backsides.

While the event could have benefited from a better choreographer, it was still pretty fabulous when Jane Birkin — Jane Birkin, people!

— suddenly stood up from her seat and sang “Baby Alone in Babylone.” And the clothes, as deliriously outré as ever, had a lot going for them as well — particularly the dresses of flip-flapping fringe, and the guys who wore droopy Gucci underpants, and the handbags shaped like Mickey Mouse’s head, and the jacket and the top painted with the face of Dolly Parton, and the lady with the live cockatoo on her shoulder …

well, this is Michele’s personal trip, so don’t expect some sort of rational explanation for what happened here. At best, I noticed more of a hippie vibe in the tailoring of corduroy suits, with their flaring trousers, and disco tops, which I rather liked.

It’s hard to say exactly who won the day, as the shows turned out to be so different, but I’m sure if you look on social media, you’ll get a better count.

Jackie Kennedy’s Sister Lee Radziwill May Have Had an Affair with John F. Kennedy

Though tales of the glamorous Jackie O. as well as the tragic Kennedy curse stole the cultural spotlight long ago, the true ingenue of the multi-generational diaspora may not be a Kennedy at all.

Jackie’s little sister, Lee Radziwill, sought the spotlight from a young age. And though she did receive her share of fame, to this day she’s incensed by her lifelong qualification as Jackie Kennedy’s sister.

A new biography from Nancy Schoenberger and Vanity Fair’s Sam Kashner, The Fabulous Bouvier Sisters: The Tragic and Glamorous Lives of Jack and Lee, focuses on the complex relationship between the late Jackie, who succumbed to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1994, and Lee, 85.

With every revelation in this taut and fascinating work, Jackie’s final will looms in one’s mind — her pointed exclusion of Radziwill from the 38-page document remains somewhat mysterious nearly a quarter of a century later, though The Fabulous Bouvier Sisters supplies a convincing argument as to why Radziwill may have been cut.

In the final pages of the book, what is perhaps the most shocking claim is laid bare: Lee may have had an affair with John F. Kennedy.

Writer Gore Vidal, who shared a stepfather with Lee and Jackie, once wrote that Lee’s first husband, Michael Canfield, confided in him that his then-wife had slept with her brother-in-law.

“There were times when … I think [Lee] went perhaps too far, you know?” Canfield allegedly told Vidal. “Like going to bed with Jack in the room next to mine in the south of France and then … boasting about it.”

RELATED: Why Jackie Kennedy Allegedly Disapproved of JFK Jr.’s Relationship with Madonna

As the biography notes, it’s unclear whether Vidal is telling the truth. He bore a complex relationship with both sisters through the years and was known for a proclivity to gossip. However, this would make any resentment Jackie would harbor toward Lee — even in her dying days — logical.

Who Is Jack Brooksbank

While the world’s been quite familiar with Prince Harry and Prince William, there’s a royal groom that’s going to take the spotlight next month. Jack Brooksbank will be walking in footsteps of his soon-to-be cousins-in-law when he marries Princess Eugenie, but who is he, exactly? Royal watchers, especially ones that live on this side of the Atlantic, may not be familiar with him, but here’s everything to know about this soon-to-be royal.

Brooksbank was known as “Barman Jack” by his pals in Chelsea. Why? Unlike most of the people associated with royalty, he worked his way through the nightclub circuit, not social ranks. In fact, he wasn’t even that high up in the ranks at his job when he met Princess Eugenie. According to the Daily Mail, he was a “meet and greeter” at a bar and restaurant in Devonshire Terrace. He wasn’t always meant to be a hospitality guru, however. In fact, he was being bred for the upper crust.

RELATED: There’s Drama Over Princess Eugenie’s Wedding Date, and It Has to Do with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Brooksbank attended the Stowe school, which counts Richard Branson as an alum and costs £10,000 per term. But instead of heading into finance like many of his peers, he went right to work. He had the blessing of his parents and worked his way through some of Chelsea’s hippest haunts. Admiral Codrington, The Markham Inn, and the Mahiki club are all present and accounted for on his résumé. But it was the Markham that got him into royal circles. He got to know Harry while he was working there and got folded into his group of friends. Thanks to that connection, he met Princess Eugenie.

Today, Brooksbank is a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila. After meeting Eugenie, Brooksbank wanted to polish his reputation and moved from managing bars and restaurants to become a wine and spirit merchant. That’s how he hooked up with Clooney and Co. and became one of the faces of Casamigos. It seems like the change in title worked, because the royals seem a-okay with Brooksbank walking down the aisle with Eugenie. But he’s not set on just being royal arm candy. He told the Daily Mail that he hopes to have an entire restaurant empire under his belt.

“I want to create a chain of pubs. It has been my dream since I was 18,” he said. “I have fond memories of Sunday roasts in pubs with log fires, and it’s something I want to recreate. I love pubs and often go to my local for a pint.”

Is a royal pub on the horizon? We’ll all have to wait and see what he’s got planned post-wedding.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher Wore the 2018 Version of the Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake Denim Outfits

Let’s all get real for a second here and admit that there are some styles that are timeless (think: the LBD) and some that are, well, not (we’re looking at you, ’80s perms).

But denim? Denim is unquestionably the former, even when taken to the most extreme of extremes like the fashion situation that happened on the 2001 American Music Awards red carpet with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Isn’t walking down memory lane fun?

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher might agree, since they are taking those casual jeans vibes from their predecessors (hat sadly not included) and putting their own 2018 spin on it.

Presenting, “How to Wear All Denim in 2018,” courtesy of Kunis and Kutcher.

The star couple matched their fashion for date night at a Beyoncé and Jay-Z concert, and while they kept things characteristically casual, their looks still hit a nostalgic note. Kunis and Timerlake’s outfits aren’t actually that far off, so we’ve got to give her serious props for proving that the Britney/Justin moment is iconic for a reason.

Now if only we could resurrect the denim gown …

So far our tradition is no presents for the kids. Really? Yes. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] we are instituting it this year. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [BLANK_AUDIO]

Princess Diana’s Niece Gives a Behind the Scenes Tour of Milan Fashion Week

Lady Kitty Spencer is Bulgari’s latest brand ambassador, as well as an aficionado of all things Italian, and so, for a fresh perspective on Milan Fashion Week, InStyle invited the modeling royal to weigh in on her experience during the recent collections. Here, a page from her diary (or rather, a transcript of her comments during a brief interview at Bulgari’s dinner party last Friday night):

VIDEO: Watch Jasmine Sanders’s Bulgari Campaign

“I got here a couple of days ago, after a shoot for Bulgari in London the evening before. I had another shoot for Bulgari yesterday, and then today I got to see the new collection of accessories — all black and a little bit of pink, which is really cool. The black day bags are not necessarily for evening, although there were couture-inspired brooches that come from the archives of the heritage collection. And they’ve got a 24-karat gold bag here that is spectacular. Tomorrow, I have a shoot again, and then we go to the amfAR gala. It’s been lots of fun, lot’s of dress up.

Daniele Venturelli/Getty Images

“I like to walk around in Milan. There’s a beautiful park in the Brera neighborhood where we walk around, but I really like to walk on my own and put my music in my ears, and you always somehow end up in the right place as long as you look on the map and see somewhere that has a green patch.

“I have a few friends here, so last night we went to Il Salumaio. It’s so lovely. I was thinking I was going to be good because it’s fashion week, but obviously there is burrata and truffle pasta, and, well, you know. The waiter said, ‘I really think you guys should share the burrata as a starter, but we said, no, no, no.’ Perhaps we should have listened to him, as I sit here in this corset, but it was such a beautiful restaurant. We got there at 10 p.m. and I had an early start this morning, but it was worth it. If the schedule gets full, you want to make sure you stay on top of things and rest, but it’s important, too, to get out and explore.

“We went to Grom for ice cream today. I always like nocciala, the hazelnut flavor. Tomorrow I’m going to Giacomo, which is amazing. It’s a nice time to catch up, because it’s all sort of people you meet up with. Milan is a happy place — it’s my favorite fashion week.

“I’ve been here quite a few times already, and I’m walking on Dolce & Gabbana again on Sunday. My fitting was this morning, so that’s coming up, and then Domenico’s 60th on Sunday night, and then I think I’m going to sleep all next week. I’m an owl at the moment, nocturnal. But I love it, both brands are so colorful and fun — so Italian. Bulgari parties are always the most fun for the dancing, and everyone stays. It’s rare to come to a work thing and have so much fun. You always think you have to behave, but here, I just make sure I can sleep in the next morning.”

Meet the Dancing With the Stars Contestant Who Jumped Five Feet Into the Air andOver His Partner

He’s a 36-year-old former all-pro linebacker and Super Bowl champion. His height comes in at approximately one-and-a-half Mary Lou Rettons. His name is DeMarcus Ware, but after the season 27 premiere of Dancing With the Stars on Sept, 24, I’m calling him DeMarcus Ware-have-you-been-all-my-life.

If you fell asleep early, you may have missed him. DWTS  is notorious for trotting out a notable performer at end the season premiere episode, just to keep you hanging on until the last minute. After two hours celebrating several highs and lamenting one big embarrassing low (hang in there, Grocery Store Joe), DeMarcus Ware cha-cha-cha’d his way into the hearts of the judges, as well as the hyped up crowd.

Does this surprise anyone? The guy is an athletic beast. After playing college football at Troy, he was drafted in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys. He played with the team for eight years where he pretty much killed it. He was the all-time leader in quarterback sacks with the number one hundred and seventeen by his name. He also played three seasons for the Denver Broncos where he picked up a little bling in the form of a Super Bowl championship ring.

RELATED: One thing you need to know about every couple on Dancing With the Stars

DeMarcus is the latest in a long line of NFL players who traded their football jersey in for a bright purple blazer embellished with sequined piping down the sleeve. The technique and stamina these guys had on the football field transfers seamlessly to the ballroom. In fact, Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, and Rashad Jennings have all won their respective seasons of DWTS. Could DeMarcus be next? Based on his performance on the season 27 premiere, I’d say he definitely has a shot. And I’m not talking about his ability to literally leap over his partner’s contorted back bended body.

Here’s the deal: DeMarcus has rhythm. To quote judge Bruno Tonioli, he’s both “strong as titanium and light as a feather.”

I totally get it. DeMarcus doesn’t necessarily loom over his dance partner, but he is a big guy who moves around the ballroom like he’s lived there his entire life. He’s comfortable in the space and doesn’t appear to have any nerves. It’s another benefit of being a pro-athlete; He’s used to the electricity that accompanies live audiences.

On another note, DeMarcus has, in my humble opinion, one of the best pro choreographers as a partner. Lindsay Arnold knows how to enhance her partner’s talents, while pushing them beyond their comfort zone. Lindsay has what it takes to help showcase DeMarcus’ effervescent personality, megawatt smile, and his natural ability to shake what his mama gave him. She’s also pretty brilliant for putting him in a silver rhinestone jacket that looks a lot like a Mirror Ball Trophy when he busts out a few spins. Subliminal messaging at its finest. My guess is that DeMarcus will be bench pressing Lindsay above his head by week four. Bonus points if he’s shirtless while doing it.

Here’s What Kelly Ripa Told a Troll That Thought She Was too Old for Her Husband

Students, take your seats, because Kelly Ripa just schooled the internet on how to clap back. The talk show host is no stranger to criticism, but according to AOL, she took to the comments section to let a troll know that they’ve got no business bringing up her age or her husband’s.

The commenter stated that Ripa was too old (specifically old-looking) for Marc Consuelos. But they tried to be polite about it, adding “sorry, but you do.” The comment came on one of Conseulos’ posts.

Ripa didn’t stand for it, getting elbows deep in the comments and adding her own. To add to the fire, it’s clear the Instagram user didn’t know that both Ripa and Conseulos are 47 years old.

“You need to learn how to spell the word too sweetie,” she wrote. “As in you’re too stupid to be with my young, handsome husband. Ps, he likes proper grammar as well you dope.”

RELATED: Kelly Ripa Loved Mark Consuelos Before She Even Met Him

In an interview with Us Weekly, Ripa said that Conseulos would rather she didn’t get involved with the drama, but she can’t resist.

“He hates it, but I love it,” she told the magazine. “I try not to even focus on that kind of stuff, but once in a while it’s fun because I’m from New Jersey, so I don’t take any of that too seriously. If someone gives me a hard time, I give them a hard time right back.”

Consuelos may not like Ripa’s responses, but sometimes, he gets in on the action, too. AOL adds that he jumped to his wife’s defense when commenters were body-shaming her for wearing a bikini. Though he’s not from New Jersey, he’s clearly learned from the best. Being married for 22 years will do that.

RELATED: Kelly Ripa Credits This Unusual Diet for Her Bikini Body

“I posted this pic of the [woman] I most admire. As a playful tribute to my wife who I’m proud of in endless ways,” he wrote. “She works extremely hard in her professional life and her commitment to exercise, healthy diet is admirable and the benefits show. Yes she’s wearing a bikini at age 47 and will no doubt wear one for many years to come. If that offends you in some way, if it triggers you, or some other psychosis you’re suffering from, I suggest you get over it and get used to it.”
